Why Choose Us For Underfloor Heating Screed
Liquid Screed direct Ltd uses the very latest modern multi layer pipes and control systems, plus there is no other company in the UK that understands warm water underfloor heating systems as Liquid Screed direct Ltd does. All our installers are CPCS approved and have many years experience of the underfloor heating industry.
We can do everything from the initial design all the way through to a perfectly level floor that will last for many decades.
Underfloor Heating Screed
In the past electric heating elements were buried within floor screeds. These were heated overnight using ‘cheap rate’ electricity. However, this method was expensive to run and not the easiest to use. The building would over heat during the day and in the evening no heat was available.
Underfloor heating is far from being new. The Romans were the first to use it. Their houses were constructed with voids which air, warmed by an open fire, would pass and heat the structure.
Heating systems of today are extremely comfortable and easy to use. Radiators are no longer required this giving more room space. The heat is more evenly distributed and dust is not circulated
With underfloor heating the whole floor area of the house gently warms the air above, taking away any cold spots. The warm air transports from the floor surface losing approximately 2 degrees centigrade at 2.0 meters above the floor, which makes the system ideal for all ceiling heights.
Independent tests reveal the most acceptable indoor climate is one in which the floor temperature ranges between 19-29°C and the air temperature at head level ranges between 20 and 24°C. With radiator or convector heating systems a vertical temperature gradient is produced; colder at foot level than at the head.
Liquid Screed direct Ltd makes it possible by using underfloor heating to reduce the energy consumption by using low water temperatures. Our underfloor heating screed systems are based on the development of complex and very high quality plastic pipe, such as the multilayer pipe, now account for over 60% of some European heating markets.
There Are Many Benefits From Underfloor Heating Screed
If you decide to install a warm water underfloor heating system in your property instead of radiators, you can count on several benefits. Not only is the heat better controlled and more comfortable but also your health could benefit.
Underfloor heating reduces the risk of dust mites living in your carpet as the moisture content is too low for them to survive. This will help any people suffering from breathing complaints, such as asthma.
Water underfloor heating works best with low temperatures in concrete floors, around 40 to 45°C (as opposed 80°C, like a typically run radiator system), which will result in energy savings for the end user. If this is combined with a heat pump, then additional energy reductions can be made.
It does not make any sense to heat the ceiling and one wall, which radiators often do, while leaving the floor unheated. Underfloor heating screed provides heat exactly where it’s required, i.e. at the floor level. Obviously heat rises and doing so from the floor makes for an even, comfortable distribution. We are often asked if underfloor heating can be used when ceilings are high – in comparison with a radiator, the way an underfloor heating system will distribute the heat, evenly throughout starting from below your feet, is both more efficient and more effective (even where high ceilings are concerned).
Easy to clean stone floors or tiles will always remain cold with a radiator system, which is not the case with underfloor heating systems. You can also place furniture anywhere you like as there are no radiators taking up important space throughout the house.
There are additional benefits besides those listed above (if comfort, efficiency and luxury aren’t enough!); low maintenance, green, versatile. Contact us for a FREE no obligation quote and find out how underfloor heating could benefit you!
